Sometimes I come across sellers who seem hardened and cynical to this work.
And don’t get me wrong, I’ve been there. I have felt those emotions.
But here’s the thing, we don’t do ourselves any favours when we bring that attitude to our work. Because if I can sense it from you, so can potential buyers.
When we bad-mouth other sellers. When we bad-mouth other buyers. When we bad-mouth platforms or sites. When we bad-mouth the community and the work. We do ourselves a massive injustice.
Don’t get me wrong, if there is something or someone out there that needs to be outed (dangerous) then by all means, do that. And I for one get overly emotional (angry) when some shit happens and I feel I want to clean up the neighbourhood!!
But I’m not talking about that.
I’m talking about sellers (and buyers) who are oozing this shitty attitude.
If you feel strongly about that, you have three options:
Leave the work.
Stay and put up with it.
Stay and change it.
We all have the power within us to turn things around. If you aren’t happy with how things work or the culture, change it. Start with you! If you think you’ll be better when IT (whatever it is) changes, you’re wrong. Change you first, then things will change.
It’s possible that our attitude towards this work can impact others and we can create a positive place to sell. Or, we can create hell by putting out our bad attitude onto others to experience.
And then they all get in a shitty mood too! 🙂
When you come across someone with a bad attitude, it shows. And it shows to buyers too.
You will make more money if you have the right mindset and the right attitude.
Spread some love on your platforms instead of using your energy and time to berate others.
We all benefit from support and collaboration rather than ‘calling out’, bitchiness and politics.
Trust me, if you can turn things around inside you, you’ll see a big difference in your sales.
DECIDE that you are going to show up with the right attitude. If you can’t quite get there, fucking fake it! Until it is real.

THIS IS HARD WORK.
THIS IS NOT ALWAYS EASY.
But until you can garner that energy from inside you to turn things around, it’s only going to keep going downhill for all of us.
