So I shared this in yesterday’s podcast episode.
If you missed it, it’s episode 19 and it’s called ‘Don’t Do This’.
What am I talking about?
Well, I’m talking about two things really so I guess ‘Don’t Do These’ would be more fitting.
The first, is please, please, please do not cold message prospective buyers. You know, when out of the blue they get an email from you asking them to buy. Or telling them about a special offer.
Don’t do that.
Nobody likes that.
I don’t like it and I’m sure you don’t either.
Nobody likes to be cold-called and the cold sale is no different.
It’s annoying to feel like all the seller is interested in is selling (even if that’s the truth).
Take your time and get to know the buyer a bit better. Find common ground and have an actual conversation.
We’re all human here.
Secondly, there’s that line that nobody wants to hear when they’re being hit on…
“Come here often?”
Want to know what the equivalent is in the panty-selling game?
“So, what brings you to (platform)?
When you’re the hundredth person to ask the buyer that, can you imagine the level of annoyance.
Here’s what to do instead.
Find something, ANYTHING, to talk about that does NOT involve what brings them to a platform.
I know it seems like a good conversation starter but it truly isn’t.
Dare to be different.
Dare to stand out.
Ask different questions.
Find something from their profile that you can talk about.
Get attention in new and exciting ways.
Therein lies the lesson for today.
