Top Mistakes Panty Sellers Make

I’ve been around the block enough times now to notice a few common mistakes that I see panty sellers making online.

Are you making any of these?

Sleep

Yep, let’s start left-field, shall we?

Time zones are great, you can use them to your full advantage to sell to communities around the world at times they’re more likely to be online. Oh wait, this is the 21st century, everyone is online ALL THE FUCKING TIME. But well, I’m surprised sometimes, I’m GMT+1 and when I’m just waking up and having breakfast there are loads of sellers (and buyers) still online.

Great stuff.

And then they’re still online…still online…still online. And I’m like, dude, what fucking time is it there? 3AM? You’re still online hustling?

GET SOME SLEEP.

Yep, I’m gonna be your Mom here and say if you’re not getting enough sleep you are missing a trick. If you haven’t had enough sleep, how can you show up? You’re trashing your hormones (yes, really), your health, your mood (particularly patience), your creativity and all these things will affect your sales.

Now, if you think you don’t need much sleep to perform at your best. You’re wrong haha, you do. If you’re well-rested, you’ll sell better.

No question.

And while we’re at it…

Working Too Much Without Taking A Break – AKA BURNOUT

Now, I’m as fucking guilty as anyone when it comes to this.

This week I have hustled and worked on the site and the podcast and a 7 Day Sales Challenge all whilst trying to write my next book for Amazon!

I am definitely in need of a break and I feel it.

When trying to fall asleep my mind is buzzing and that’s my big signal to slow down and take it easy.

Sales are addictive.

Hustling is addictive.

Working for yourself is addictive, especially when you’re flying high and doing well.

But without making yourself stop and just enjoy some quiet time or something that does not involve panty sales, you are on your way to burning out and having to leave this business for your own sanity and health!

But let’s make it look like I’m completely contradicting myself, shall we?

Because next up…

Not Showing Up Consistently Yet Expecting Results

I’ve spoken to a couple of sellers this week who are frustrated because they haven’t made sales. But when I look at their history on their platform I see sporadic postings with up to two weeks between them!

Panty platforms would probably I rather not tell you you have to show up every day. They’d probably rather paint a picture that it’s fine to fit it in when you can and it will still work.

Fucking. Won’t.

Not if you want good sales.

Show up every day. Every. Fucking. Day.

Especially in the beginning.

Once you are up and running, then you can chill a bit.

But in business – any business – when you are getting off the ground you have to put in the hours.

Right?

You have to find the balance. Like I said, don’t overdo it but do definitely DO IT.

Which leads me on to my next common mistake…

Not Using Your Time Effectively

A lot of sellers follow the advice of just ‘spam the wall’ and wait for the customers (and dollars) to come rolling in.

Not in my dimension.

I am not going to sit and wait.

I am going to make connections left, right and centre.

I am not pushing sales. I am making contact with prospective buyers to GET THEIR ATTENTION.

You know what’s a billion-dollar industry?

Advertising.

Why?

Because you need, NEEEEEEEEEEED to get your customer’s attention in order for them to buy your products.

So yes, spamming the wall of your platform is technically advertising. But getting attention is key.

We do that with integrity.

With honesty.

With the confidence of a good quality product and customer experience behind us.

Being Too Scared To Stand Out/Copying Profiles of Other Sellers

When we’re new, we want to fit in with everyone else. And of course, there’s a vibe that works in this community that we’re all part of. But that doesn’t mean we all have to be clones of each other.

If anything, the more you stand out, the more you stand out.

Don’t be afraid to inject a bit of your personality in to your sales. Sure, not everyone will want to vibe with your vibe but it is a whole lot easier to sell when you aren’t pretending to be something you’re not.

Every business and every person has its own unique personality and that is no bad thing.

It goes without saying that ripping off other seller’s work and profiles is a big no-no. 

Focusing on The Wrong Things

I’ve spoken about this a few times on the podcast. I spoke to a seller this week who exchanged something for her first review – she didn’t make money from it. She thought that having that one review would magically make the sales come.

They didn’t.

Yes, social proof is a thing.

But so is doing the work.

If you put as much focus and energy into making sales as you do in to getting that sodding review number to go up, the reviews would come rolling in. Ironically.

Because if you want to be a good seller then you need to get good at sales. That’s where your energy needs to go.

How?

Build your know, like, trust.

Not Being Prepared To Put In The Work

What’s the fastest (legal) way to get rich quick?

Umm, there isn’t one.

This is no get-rich-quick thing.

This is work.

If you want $$$$ you have to put in time, effort and energy in return.

It can be easy. Some days it’s effortless. But most of the time it requires some level of input from you.

That might be chatting to a guy that never buys.

That might be messaging 100 guys when only 25 reply.

That might be any number of things? If you aren’t willing to put in this time, it’s not the business for you.

Not Thinking Of What Could Happen

Back up your stuff.

Back up your stuff.

Back up your stuff.

Digital content does not belong just on your phone.

Customer’s orders do not belong in your Instagram DMs.

Have a back up for everything or learn the hard way. Basically. 

Not Supporting/Berating Other Sellers

Just stop. Now.
