How long have you been selling used panties for?
It will be a full month in 5 days.
How did you find out about
I watched a YouTube video where a man was reviewing the finances of a girl who happened to be a panty seller. It caught my attention and two days later I signed up for PantyDeal!
Where do you sell?
I started and still am on PantyDeal, just about a week ago started on Scented Pansy and I’ve joined one seller/buyer Kik group.
How many hours per day do you spend selling?
It depends on my mental health, usually. On good days, I’ll spend about 6 hours, which includes photos, making listings, chatting, arranging sales or just browsing the site. There are days when I just log on, maybe post one or two posts, but don’t have it in me to socialize. But I have never had a day where I’ve spent more than 8 hours on panty stuff. On average, I’d say 4-5 hours a day.
Why did you decide to sell panties online?
I am in the BDSM community and have some kinks myself (panties aren’t my thing, but I’m not a kink-shamer.) and I’ve dabbled into sex work before – I’ve been a cam girl, an escort and even shot a porno once. Panty selling seemed like a very good way to explore my sexuality and kink side more, I enjoy (for lack of better phrasing) selling my body, but as I’ve joked with my friends before, “I want to sell my body without being touched.” And panty selling seemed like the perfect fit for me! And coincidentally, two days after I started selling panties, I got fired (unrelated), so income was a necessity.
Do you sell additional items or just panties?
When I started, I was interested in selling only panties. But I’ve expanded to socks, bras, custom videos, photos and am starting to learn how to sell my G Drive collection. Also a bit of sexting every one in a while, but I especially enjoy FemDom.
What do you enjoy about panty selling?
I am a pleaser. Both in a sexual sense and a human connection sense. This is a way I can please the sort of kinks people might be ashamed to talk about or seek out if it wasn’t for the certain anonymity of the internet. I enjoy the face that I get to please people. But I also enjoy the process itself, maybe even more than the pleasing aspect. I get a bit giddy every time when I wear panties for a customer. The thought that the panties that I am wearing right now will be in a complete stranger’s hands within days both turns me on and makes me laugh. Plus, I’m a sucker for gift wrapping! So, getting the pleasure to wrap things on a weekly basis in nice paper and with a bow, just makes me happy. And the community support! Oh my, the amazing women I’ve talked to in just this one month of doing this!
The fact that there are devoted groups and Discord servers where we lift each other up and help one another out is incredible! I don’t think I’d be able to do this without the support of the other sellers.
What is challenging or difficult about panty selling?
The challenges now are different to when I started out. Yes, I know it’s been only a month. 😀 At first it was about figuring out how the sites work, how buyers think and interact and just getting to know the whole system of panty selling. Not that I’m a bit better at that, the challenging aspect is usually getting on the site and starting up conversations, especially on bad days. I have clinical depression, for 8 years now and it flairs up out of nowhere (my therapist would disagree, but that’s a different conversation) and I would be lying if I said it didn’t impact my work here. Dry spells are rough, I feel like I’m doing something wrong or fucking up without knowing it and start to beat myself up. If I had to sum it up, I think I’d say that the mental self care aspect of panty selling is the most difficult part. I, personally, don’t find the chatting or picture taking or listing making difficult, I quite enjoy it, but the impact of certain conversations, lack of sales or responses take a toll on me, and dealing with my own feelings and emotions might be the most difficult part of being in this industry.
Be prepared that it might take a minute to make your first sale. Listen to The Panty Selling podcast to learn more about the industry. It’s good to familiarize yourself with the downsides, so you can be prepared when shit inevitably goes down. But also remember what you’re worth! Don’t undersell yourself just to make a quick buck. If you want that, McDonald’s is always hiring. Remember that you are a person and trust your gut. Don’t let potential buyers treat you like crap, stand your ground and if your gut says something is off, TRUST IT! It’s right 99% of the time.
And join seller groups. Definitely join seller groups. Without the support of other women it is going to be way more difficult to get through the downs. Lastly, do not forget about self care! And I don’t mean only baths and manicures and chocolate. I also mean taking a day or three off if you’re feeling bad. Saying no to things you’re not comfortable doing. Having someone to confide in. Not spending most of your time behind a screen. Respect
and love yourself.
What, in your opinion, does it take to be a successful panty seller?
Consistency. As much as I hate to admit it, showing up every day and putting in the work works! Reaching out to potential buyers, but not in a way “Hey! Buy my panties now or else!” but to just strike up a conversation. You both know why you’re messaging him, but it’s much better to start it out as a simple conversation, I think. I’ve
gotten much better results this way.
Answer kindness with kindness. If the buyer nicely says to me after a short conversation “You seem very nice, but I can’t afford/ am not looking to buy panties at the moment.” I usually reply with something along the lines of “Thank you for being honest! I appreciate it. And I do hope you’ll keep me in mind when you’re looking to add to your panty collection! x” And they do come back! I mean, yes, not all of them, but some do. I treat people the way they treat me. Kind sellers have a way of sticking to the mind of the buyers. And I believe that what you put out into the universe comes back.
How much (on average) do you/have you made per week/month?
Oh I have a whole excel spreadsheet I am VERY proud of! 😀 Ican tell you the exact numbers. In 26 days of selling I have made €524. I have spent €122 on site fees, shipping, new stock and packaging, so my profit margin at the moment is €402. €100 of that is in Amazon gift cards, the rest is cold, hard cash.
Do your friends/family know about what you do?
Yes. My best friend was the fist one to find out. I’ve also told my mum and she even helps me with the pictures sometimes! I know this is not a common case, but with me, nothing I do anymore can surprise the people closest to me. My extended family and acquaintances don’t know because it is none of their damn business. But if someone I know were to find me on one of the sites, I think I would be honest about it and tell the truth.
How long do you think you will do this for?
For as long as the positives outweigh the negatives. I’m really enjoying myself and can see myself doing this for years, but if it starts negatively impacting my daily life, mental health or relationships, that is the moment I will stop.
